Cheers to the Freakin' Weekend!

Yes, sadly it's only Monday. But maybe this will get you through the week.

So I always thought Rihanna was okay and her singing grew on me especially since the Good Girl Gone Bad album. However, i didn't really care much for her personality because I never really saw it. I LOVE her style, fashion risks, & her sleek tattoos. I loved this song when I heard it on her album but I'm loving the video. This video makes me want to party with her! lol. She seems to know how to have a good time.

Check it out for yourself, Enjoy!

I'm Over It

I'm not a mean person, in fact I'm too nice & people have taken advantage of that over the years. I'm trying but it's hard. But that's another post altogether. I was talking to my close friend about how you can't care for someone's well-being more than they do.

I like to help people (future doctor!) and sometimes wonder if i should be a counselor/life coach, because I love trying to help people organize their life. Like giving advice about school, career paths, researching info for them, or advice in other general areas of life. I wish my friends to be successful. When it comes to my own life however, I have my moments but then I can get lazy, smh. Anyhoo, I don't like to see bad happen to people I care about or know. And when I give them advice be it they ask or i offer, they agree at the time then just go back to their old ways. Several months later when they're kind of down again I give them some advice, they agree but then throw it away once again. Now, i just feel dumb when I keep repeating the same thing I've been saying.

In the meantime

So I started a phlebotomy class this morning. It will last for 4 weeks. Phlebotomy is the process of drawing blood from a vein. Like when one has to take a blood test before volunteering or a job the people that take your blood can be a phlebotomist technician or perhaps a nurse. I'm studying to become the former.

Anyhoo, like right before bed i look at the classroom rules and such & realized that there is a Supply List on top! Luckily for me I had me, i had most of the items (nerdy much? lol). It was only about 7 items and i had 5 out of the list. I even had the white sneakers they asked for. Sort of. They're white 7's w/ some purple and grey on them lol. Well, they'll have to do for now.

Baby on Board

You guys Lizzie McGuire is pregnant! AKA Hilary Duff. She recently celebrated her one year anniversary to hockey player hubby Mike Comrie, and at the same time announce that they are expecting their first child. You can read a little more about it here.

It's just a little weird, I can remember watching her through her awkward teenage years on, listening to some of her songs when she came out with a few albums, to the lovely woman she became as seen in her recent movies. So, I kinda grew up as Hilary Duff was growing up. She's only 1 year older than me. I would like to have my first child at a young age as well, before 30, but i would like to have an established/developing career and marriage first.

I wish nothing but the best for her growing family and that her child grows up loved and protected.

Going to see McQueen

Alexander McQueen was a British fashion designer who passed away February 11, 2010. His designs were so very creative and theatrical. For one of his shows he was inspired by Japanese culture as well as a Harry Potter movie. One of his shows consisted of a human chess game, like in Harry Potter, and the opponents were the east versus the west. Meaning eastern versus western (American) fashion culture. They were showing this show on a screen in the exhibit.

This photo above shows what one first sees when entering the exhibit. This is where it all starts. The white dress on the right is made of guess this, shells! This specific photo was obtained online and clicking on the image will take you to it's source. It was very crowded and my friend and I were both caught trying to take pics, lol. However, we snuck in a few towards the end.

Now, let me tell you about my trip:

Take 1 - I went with one of my best friends. It took us two days to see the exhibit. The first day we went was a Friday (3rd to last day of the exhibit). We got to the city sometime around 4pm and entered the Metropolitan Museum of Art at about 5pm. There was a line outside, which was only about a 30 minute wait. We go inside to pay and the teller told us that there was a 3-4hr wait and the exhibit closed at 9pm that day so we decided to leave. We had on flat sandals and our feet were already sore from the walking & standing to endure a 3-4hr wait.

Take 2 - This time around we came a bit more prepared. We went to the city again, this time a Saturday. This being one of the last two days of the exhibit the museum was keeping it open until midnight. So we got online about 3:45pm and we had an hour wait this time it was no joke. This time I had Coach sneakers on, which are kind of flat but better than sandals and my friend had oxfords on. The foot pain was only prolonged but wasn't bad as the day before. Once inside we waited for about 3hrs got into the exhibit a little after 7pm and got out at 7:45. -___- lol.

Even with all the wait and travelling, the exhibit was breathtaking! I can't even describe. I wrote down this quote of his that stuck out to me at the exhibit. I'll leave you all with that and a 2 minute narrated video of some pictures.

"There is no way back for me now. I am going to take you on journeys you've never dreamed were possible"

i went to the Alexander McQueen exhibit yesterday,

a worthy enough post on this experience soon to come...

I got a Blog On Fire Award!

I was awarded this "Blog on Fire Award" by the lovely Jazmyn. Aww, I was so touched, thank you! You guys should definitely check out out her blog!

Now the rules are that I have to tag 10 other people. So here are some that I tend to make sure I check, some at least weekly if not daily. They are a mix of fashion, natural hair, and personal blogs. I've listed only 8 b/c several others haven't posted in months! However, one of those are named in the list below. Some of the blogs i think you should check out are:

Next, I have to share 7 random facts about myself. Here you go:
  1. Like Jazmyn, I LOVE purple! Be it notebooks, toothbrushes, wallet, bedspreads, nail polish remover, you get the idea. I kinda didn't like when purple became the IT color in fashion a few years ago and many people were like that's their new fave color-__- lol bt i did also like that purple was being appreciated by others and in fashion as there were like 0 purple clothes/items before that season. Anywhoo, lets continue...
  2. I love fashion (including designing). Granted i haven't designed anything in years. & i want to learn to sew.
  3. I want to be a doctor so badly. I pray to God it happens.
  4. I want to visit France & Egypt and a few other places that I mentioned here.
  5. I am shy..but I seem to be slowly outgrowing it.
  6. Shows on WE tv, like My Fair Wedding with David Tutera, and even some on HGTV, get me thinking about my future wedding and home. A couple years ago i even searched dresses for my future wedding party and copied, pasted, and saved the pics on a Word document (now gone after getting a new hardrive). All except my wedding dress, which I believe will be custom made (God willing).
  7. I would like to live in the city (perhaps along Lexington) (even if for a short time).
Now, to everyone that was tagged go ahead and list you're fave 10 blogs and share your 7 random facts. Thanks to all my readers and writers continue to blog =)
